Mutual eclipse and mutual occultation between Galilean satellites 2021/08/09(UT)

Chris Nuttall
This makes 3 successful observations out of the 7 events I had short-listed for this phe-mu season,
not too bad given how low in altitude they have been and that the weather hasn't been great either.
I just about managed to detect the shadow of Ganymede moving across Europa and got a sense of the direction it was travelling in,
but it wasn't really a very good view; the moons boiling gently the whole time.
In theory I should have still been able to see some of Europa at Mid-eclipse,
but by then it was starting to get light, the seeing was deteriorating rapidly and only one moon remained visible to my eye.
Just a few minutes later and the show was lost behind the garden hedge anyway.
I'm glad I got this one as the occultation on August 1st was number 6 out of 7 for me
but it was totally clouded out here,so this was my consolation prize.

Ganymede partially eclipses Europa. Afterwards Ganymede partially occulted Europa,
but the weather didn't let me record it.
