[Mark Lonsdale : [Canberra,Australia]
Here is a mars report performed last 14th april with the 235mm cassegrain under average images.
Brightenings were plotted against the main feature.
The northern hemisphere close to the cap was hazy〓white as noted.
The Elysium Chaos feature was well there but the internal bassin was not bright as during the previous nights and covered with a thin haze.

Once more we had some excellent seeing conditions here last night with- around AI-II for the entire session.
I observed Mars at x375 and x600, the drawing attached was mostly made at x600.
At this magnification, the Martian disk reveals quite a few details, especially when the definition is good:
・SPR again fairly bright- similar to the view on the 12th April.
・Mare Sirenum is the main dark feature visible to the south of the disk.
・Immediately to the north of Sirenum there was a vague dusky patch- Nodus Gordii?
・There seemed to be a bright white cloud on the limb and extending inwards from the preceding limb.
・More vague shadings seen in Aphnitis Fr and Phelgra.
・Trivium Charontis and Cerberus fairly well defined, Elysium close to the morning terminator.
・NPC seen, a thin Lowell band present immediately south.
[Paul G. Abel:Leicester:United Kingdom]
The NPC boundary appeared soft but more or less straight as we approach De = 0,
the cap seemed to glint white near to the CM and be a little less brilliant towards the east and west extremes,
I assume this is just a function of resolution at the small diameter.
The SPH had a similar straight aspect to it, but its edges were softer still.
In addition I noticed extensive weak mist to all areas south of Mares Sirenum and Cimmerium.
There was a half-toned dark streak in the vicinity of Olympus Mons, and a streak of bright white cloud immediately to its east.
In good moments it was quite striking.
There was also a patch of mist on the limb which seems to correspond with Pavonis,
and a diagonal streak of mist which seems to correspond with Arsia.
Lastly I noticed some vague half-toned streaks on the north west portion of the disc,
with a little morning mist between them. I later realised these correspond with Elysium and its surroundings.
