Mars closing quicker on the Sun now, daylight becoming a problem for imaging. A very hot day but surprisingly there were intermittent short spells of fair seeing. Some familiar features visible. Distance from Earth now about 2.3AU.[Simon Kidd: Welwyn Herts,United Kingdom]
