I have had a couple of unsuccessful attempts at Jupiter over the last week,
and was not confident this morning after some very poor seeing for Mars, Venus and Saturn.
But I managed to find it just above the observatory wall, barely discernible against the light sky.
As I processed, I realised that I had imaged during a double-double transit,
with Europa (not well seen) and its shadow on the southern edge of the SEB and Io and its shadow approaching the preceding limb.
I am still going to have a look at the earlier data, but I am presenting what I think was the best I got.
Unfortunately, it is about a minute or two after Io's shadow had left the planet (the dark spot on the limb looks too far south,
and I believe is an artefact from the severe processing). But a start to the new apparition for me.
