Jupiter possible oval merger in NPR by John H.Rogers

Jupiter possible oval merger in NPR by John H.Rogers Here is a collection of maps that was posted in our PJ41 report; these are the latest that I have annotated. It doesn't actually label the NNTZ but hopefully it's enough to give the picture. We don't yet have much JUPOS data for this apparition so it wasn't straitforward to identify both ovals. I'll soon annotate one or two of the more recent maps that Rob or Shinji have been providing (hopefully with a map from the PJ42 images, when they are all processed). I hope some observers are having good conditions for following this apparent merger still.

Here is a montage including Niall's image, and a more recent one from ALPO-Japan in which I have realigned the R,G,B channels to compensate for apparent atmospheric dispersion. It looks as though a merger has occurred but the resulting large, bright oval may still be 'wobbling'. Further obs'ns will be very welcome!
