Mike Karakas
Was extremely fortunate to get a short window of good seeing last night.
Good sky conditions have been very sparse since the 19th from central Canada.

Seeing conditions last evening were predicted to be poor given the jet stream sitting over top of my location,
and unfortunately that was true with it getting to 3/10 at its best.
However, given an opportunity to image the approximate longitudes for PJ45 that happens tomorrow I felt it was still worth the effort.
Ganymede is in transit,in very close proximity to its shadow given opposition was on Monday.
BA can be seen setting and the GRS just peeking over the preceding limb.
What may be S4-LRS-1 can just be made out in the SPR nearing the meridian.

Hopefully others have had better conditions to image Jupiter this week.

Surprisingly the skies were clear last night, where at least 10 days of cloud and rain were forecast.
Furthermore,with Jupiter having a L3 of 240 degrees,just after midnight,
I had high hopes of getting decent images of the PJ45 path where it crosses the equator being at or close to the Central Meridian.
Although the jet stream was practically non existent and I had hopes of good seeing,
that was not to be the case and the seeing was poor.

Nevertheless I produced these RGB and IR 642nm BP images for what they're worth

Not *much* better conditions, but ask,and ye shall receive! Besides the spot next to Ganymede,
-it looks like there is something (maybe a Flake?) between the GRS and where The Chimney should be.. ???

Came back from my trip to Starmus in Armenia and Europe. Condition here since I arrive had been terrible.
I was lucky to have a brief clearing before the clouds rolled in.
Seeing was good but transparency was very poor.

The GRS is rising on the left while Oval BA is setting on the right.
The STrZ between the GRS and Oval BA is very turbulent. Note the dark reddish feature on the STrZ before the CM.
The South Polar red spot can be seen in these images. The NEBs is getting darker.
Note the dark red barge on the NEB.
