I made IR (850nm BP & Methane Band) captures of Mercury this evening under fair to good seeing conditions. 2 x IR 850nm BP images were combined with a Methane Band image (889nm 18nm BW). The correlation with the WinJUPOS graphic for the timestamp is excellent, particularly some of the darker areas.
This is a Mercury animation of the images from 1st of August & 4th of August. Note the very slow rotation of Mercury. You can see how much it rotated in 3 Earth days. The day length on Mercury is 59 Earth days, a sizable proportion of its year length at 88 Earth days.
