高度の上昇とともにシーイングはよくなっていった。NEBの活動がより活発になっている様子がうかがえる。
Seeing improved as altitude increased.The NEB seemed to be becoming more active.

一晩中、風が止まず、フレームアウトを繰り返し続けました。いつもの倍以上の量を撮影した中から、
ブレの少ないものをスタックしましたが、シャッター速度の遅いメタンバンド画像は、かなり解像度が落ちたものとなっています。

低空で少し気流が良くなく、１枚目のカラーは処理を控えたら、模様が淡くなってしまいました。
NEBｓに、スポット状の明るい白斑が２つあり、フェストーンは５本、見えます。

雲の往来が激しい夜でした。
左側に昨日見たfestoonとplumeが見えます。plumeは大きくなり、NEBに食い込んでいるようです。
中央右側にあるアーチ型のfestoonを受けている逆向きfestoonは細く鋭い形で、
根元のNEBは深くえぐれています。
中央のNTrZの白斑が大きく明るく見えました。
2枚目を始めて間もなく、東から厚い雲が伸びてきて木星が隠れてしまいました。
不穏なものを感じたので、あきらめて撤収したのですが、片づけの途中で本当にパラパラと降り出しました

Hi all,here's an image of Jupiter from this morning through a 750nm
longpass filter. The seeing was steady but with a lot of jetstream
blurring so only IR filters showed any detail. 12 x 90s recordings
spanning 50 minutes were used to make this image.

今日は、シーイングが悪かった。おまけに例によって25時になると雲が広がり、
見る見る間に曇ってしまった。

透明度、シーイングともに良好ですが日出に向けて揺らぎが大きくなる傾向です。
眼視での印象に近付けるべくウェーブレット処理をこれまでよりソフトにしてみました。
偶々木星の南側に恒星が写り込んだので木星の運行が感じられるように組みました。

早い時間帯に撮影してみましたが、やはりシーイングが良くなかったです。
その後は、曇からの雨でした。

Please find attached an observation of Jupiter made on 2023 August 21st.
We had some superb seeing conditions here in the morning with conditions around AI for much of the time and some AII.
This was one of my finest ever views of Jupiter- so much detail was visible on the disk at x230
that it was difficult to record it all in the short time of 12 minutes which is required due to the swift rotation.
Io was transiting the disk that morning,and the shadow was very clear
although I was unable to see the satellite when it passed on to the disk.
Overall my impressions where:
- The STB and SSTB were seen,although in some places the belt is not uniform and appears as a series of faint patches and spots.
- STropZ is now rather compressed as the STB is quite extensive in some regions.
- GRS seems to have a collar around its southern boundary.
I did find the GRS to me much less colourful and much more muted in appearance this year- especially compared to the previous years.
- SEB rather broad and very active. The two main components- the SEB(S) and SEB(N) are present
but at some longitudes other components seem to be present!
The region following the GRS was quite turbulent and the two bright patches were white in colour.
- The EZ appeared largely white except for a number of bluish festoons.
The region is much quieter now compared to previous years.
- NEB is broader,it's northern edge contains a number of interesting structures.
Interestingly the dark southern part of the NEB is an orange/brown colour,
while the northern part is a lighter golden colour.
- No sign of the NTB at these longitudes.
- The NNTB can be seen on the left hand side of the drawings,but on the right it appears to be largely absent.
- Io's shadow was observed and black in colour. Io itself appeared a lighter orange colour and definitely not white.
The satellite was lost when in transit across the SEB.

A catchup set from 21 August. Processing was not optimised due to time constraints,
and the captures were under very strong Jetstream conditions ( >40m/s)
Io was in transit across the GRS and the derotation in CH4 did not appear to cope well.
