暖かく穏やかな南風の快晴。南から千切れ雲が断続的に飛んできますがシーイングは比較的良好。

Image set from yesterday evening, with Solis Lacus at upper left.
There appears to be some equatorial cloud in the Valles Marineris region at centre left.
It was a pity a short spell of nice seeing that I had just after sunset did not extend to the Mars session,as a breeze picked up and the seeing degraded.
Out of interest,I also share the stunning sunset (it really was a beautiful mild evening with no wind for a while),with the Gamsberg mountain 30kms away silhouetted against the sky and the temporary setup in the garden on the farm. We will be continuing with the earthworks for the observatory rebuild shortly.

Here is a mars report of last 13th jan. using the CC203mm,images were just average.
The Noachis area exhibited a brightness ocre color from the limb (the arrow mention).
The overall disk color was orange ocre color.
Solis Lacus exhibited a dim contrast.
The Noachis area needs still a follow-up regarding its ocre cloud,no time for evaluation with color filters.

Dear sirs, here are my Mars observations from Jan 13, under deteriorating seeing conditions. They were obtained with the QHY200m (2x binned for UV) and represent single stacks (3 min for IR, 5 min for UV). The new IDAS UV filter seems very effective to capture cloud detail on Mars, but definitive evidence still needs good seeing conditions.
Solis Lacus, Mare Sirenum and Amazonia are well seen, as are clouds over Vallis Marineris, Arcadia and Mare Sirenum.
Raw variants are also posted. Please interpret the color merging result as a synthetic product and not as a RGB image, and also that no derotation was made between channels.
