Channels pesented separated for inspection of the possible blue clearing:

To begin with the seeing was fair but it did drop off about half way through. The apparent diameter of Mars is now quite small- some 6.2",and requires high powers to see anything meaningful. A number of details were seen:
・The whole of the preceding limb was very bright suggesting the presence of evening clouds
・There was a brilliant patch from the prec. limb extending onto the disk- this was possibly bright clouds in the Argyre I basin.
・Mare Erythraeum contained some structure and seemed to be darker in its south-prec region.
・Solis Lacus can be seen although it now lacks the complex structures seen earlier in the apparition when Mars was closer.
・Aurorae Sinus was rather darl- perhaps the darkest feature on the disk. I was surprised to be able to see Ganges and a brightness in Ophir and Candor.
・To the north,Acidalium can be seen and Nilokeras.
・There seemed to be a fainter Lowell band around the north polar cap which was quite bright.

Mars is exhibiting blue clearing. See attached images. I am taking a luminance image with a UV-IR cut filter, then a blue clearing image with a UV-IR cut filter and Violet #47 filter, and with the blue filter in the RGB filter set. The blue images appear identical to the luminance image- blue clearing of 3. The blue normally is not this transparent, and the albedo features are not readily visible.
I encourage everyone to please image Mars to confirm blue clearing. Manos Kardadis has observed this phenomenon in his images. Thank you Manos.
