I believe this is a first for me attempting to capture Mercury.
As I was imaging Venus this morning at sunrise, I became aware that Mercury is approaching greatest western elongation in the next few days. Thanks to syncing Venus with Sky X, I was able to slew and find the planet in the bright morning glow, at 7h size and 27 deg altitude, about half an hour after sunrise.
The IR>685nm appeared to pick out a bit detail better than the R. I have included the Winjupos simulation for comparison.
I suspect that the light streak at the bottom may be an artefact (possibly collimation, which I am currently fine tuning)
Although I believe amateur contributions may not be of great scientific value, it was nice for me to at least tick off the little planet after all these years!
