Conditions were perfect again today.
Note the large oval feature on the north pole. The NEB shows complex rifts.
The south polar red spot can be seen rising on the left.

Although better than the worst condition,it is hard to squeeze a favorable focusing point.
Details are not certain but NEBs has three big dark structures with roots of festoons.

夕方から晴れてきてシーイングもまずまずでした。

ほぼ一ヶ月振りの撮影です。この間数度の晴れ間がありましたが、気流状態が悪くとても撮像できる状態にはなりませんでした。
昨日は広く高気圧に覆われ、低層の風も弱まってこの撮影の時には安定しました。
ただし、この前後のセットは不安定で撮像には及びませんでした。

Due to constantly bad weather,observation opportunities are rare,
and therefore it is even more surprising to capture almost the same "side"
of Jupiter twice in the short cloud breaks which occured.
For comparison,I inserted the image from the 30th of Dec. again here,
and scaled both images to the same size.
Note the significant change of patterns in the EZ,while the rest appears more or less constant,
with only slight differences.

NEBの再拡幅領域ですが、今日はあまり幅広く感じませんでした。
STrZの大暗斑は横長で少し淡くなったようです。
後方にスロープ状に伸びていますが、昨年のヘビ模様に似てるようで似ていないですね。

For a various reasons,my Jupiter contributions have been sadly lacking recently.
But glad to say that some of the amazing results being produced by,amongst others,Eric and Chris have ensured superb coverage.
A few recent attempts at Saturn made me concerned that my collimation may be a bit off,
and I spent the last few evenings,despite some cloud,trying to tighten things up.
Jupiter was already quite low by the time I was finishing up last night,but I thought it may be a good test,
and quickly grabbed this single IR>685nm,which I submit for the record.
