Comment by Makoto Adachi
Due to time limitations today I limited the session to IR captures. Seeing had also deteriorated from the earlier Saturn session, possibly due to a pre-dawn breeze that had developed. M Sirenum is the most prominent feature above centre.

Seeing was moderate, but the SPC was always visible. It was difficult to see from Earth due to poor orientation, but still quite visible.
Meridiani (0W,-5) should have been visible below center, but no matter how many times I looked,I could not see it as a dark spot. At times, the area between Meridiani and Margaritifer Sinus
(23W;-10) looked slightly bright. From this,I thought that this area was covered with dust.
However, the apparent diameter was small,so visibility was unclear.

Mars was perhaps a bit disappointing, with poor green and blue data, but some nice features showing up in the sharpened red and IR, given how small it is at 4.9". At sunrise, Mars is now about as high as it will appear during this apparition from our latitude - it will get a little lower for the rest of 2024 even as it moves further from the Sun.
