Between August 15th and 31st, I spent much of the time imaging Mercury. I have posted one and two still images before, but I have enough to make a short animation of 7 images.
You can see how quickly Mercury changed its phase from a crescent to almost full in just two weeks! Also, you can follow some of the ejects rays craters (as white spots) marching across the disk. This is due to the orbital motion around the sun as seen from earth. Besides the ejecta rayed craters, the animation shows other fainter details which they are more visible and more eye catching.
All images were taken in daylight when Mercury was near to the central meridian the highest point in the sky. I used the Astronomik ProPlanet 642nm filter and it is better than the one I was using the Baader 610nm. This is the best way to capture as many details as possible on the surface of Mercury.

A fantastic observation run on this day. Seeing was very steady over a longer period.
Could aquire five videos, the stacks of four went into the final result.
This ist definitely the best image of Mercury I ever shot.
With the help of several maps I could identify at leats eleven craters, one Planitia and a bright spot overlapping several craters.
