Hi all, here's an image of the night side of Venus from this morning using a 1000-1020nm bandpass filter and Phils 508mm newtonian at prime focus. About an hours worth of data was combined @ 20fps to get this result, however seeing was not very good for the first half of the session so most of the smaller detail comes from recordings near the end.
The most prominent feature is Aphrodite, shown at right as it slowly rotates further into view. Some other surface features can be seen as compared to the topo map but as always there is a lot of variability compared to previous days. Leda Planitia in the far north (dark blue in the reference image) still appears brighter than the surrounding area.
Data was processed in AS!4, Registax6 and the Gimp, with the animation reference image generated in Winjupos.
