With Northants Astronomical Society in Newton. The society has use of the Newton Field centre which is situated in the small village of Newton and as a result, the horizon is very flat and light pollution minimum. The sky was a little hazy on places, and as Venus was low down, the seeing was rather turbulent at times. I was however able to make a disk drawing.
Illuminated Disk: Some interesting subtle shading, grayish in colour, present on the disk. The darkest of the shading was to be found near the terminator. I was unable to verify the markings however as I was only afforded sparing moments of good seeing- the drawing may well be inaccurate!
Unilluminated Disk: Not visible.
Limb Band: I did not get the usual impression of a bright limb band- certainly the limb was bright, but it did not appear to be well-defined as usual- this may be down to the seeing.
Terminator: Geometrically regular.
Cusp Regions: I had the impression that the north cusp cap may have been slightly more brighter than the southern one. Similarly, I could only really make out the north cusp collar.
