Attached are two Venus drawings I made yesterday evening in less than ideal conditions. We had a late clearing here in the evening,so I quickly opened the observatory to observe Venus. Conditions were not great; variable seeing and frequent passing cloud. I actually made three drawings,IL,#47 and #21,but the #21 drawing was stopped by cloud and all I could get from it was a phase estimate.
Illuminated Disk: Interesting view. I was of the opinion that the disk contained a number of subtle bright regions (these were slightly better defined in W#47). The regions themselves are hard to see and record in these conditions but I do not think they are an artefact of poor seeing. There were some dark markings immediately after the bright limb band.
Unilluminated Disk: Not seen
Bright Limb Band: Visible and complete
Terminator: Geometrically regular- only slightly concave in IL,and in W#47 it seems that dichotomy has now arrived. There seemed to be some brighter regions in the terminator shading though I am far from certain of this.
Cusp Caps: Both present though in IL the north cusp seemed brighter, however in the W#47 the SCC was noticeably brighter.
Cusp Collars: Both present and probably of equal intensity.
