I spent long times to collect the appearance of Venus from 15H00 until
20H30UT under different sky light levels.
Some contracditory results under day light but convergent near sun set time.
The R50mm under begin of night exhibited a slight lighted dark side.
The color channel doesnot involve significant difference at present, but
more or less slight differences of light level.
The use of occulting bar doesnot bring a subtantial help under day light.
This device has to be very well installed and involves anyway a diffraction
edge effect that is sensitive on vision under night sky.
The use of the ccd device (an icx 098BL chipset) is rapidly perturbed by
light glaring on overexposed views.
These are the observations performed here for the momment.
I found this controversial, but what is sure this is the fact that if the
light of the dark side is existing this is a very low light level. And this
is not proving the fact for this elongation that the AL occured on this
period.
We must avoid a similitude to moon AL not for the mechanism but for the
easy to see such.
We must find something that improve the S/N ratio, there are too many
disturbing parameters for this research.
For your perusal.
Can you add the body of the present mail with the sketches?

I have attached my latest image of Venus' night side May 12,2012 at 0:40 UT to be posted.

Venus had rotated very little in 5 days and I'm pretty sure the dark-like band is real.
