In good seeing conditions.  There were some curious effects observed with regards to the cusp caps:
Bright Limb Band: Visible and complete
Terminator: Geometrically regular
Cusp Caps: These were very interesting today.  The cusp anomaly- the effect whereby the terminator deviates from the usual curvature seen at the cusps and is much flatter was clearly seen in IL,W15 and W21 filters.  Interestingly,in the W58 green filter,the southern cusp cap appeared to be rounded (or blunter) while in the W47 violet filter both cusp caps seemed to be much darker.
In all views,the northern cusp cap appeared to be larger and slightly brighter than the southern cusp cap.
Cusp Collars: Both seen- about equal.

Hi all,an unexpected clear sky and favorable seeing and transparency allowed Venus imaging this morning.
I attach a preliminary rendering of registered night- and day-sides,in both cases obtained with a pixelteq 1010/38nm filter stacked with a Sloan Y',thus in both cases only transmitting the thermal emission band. The new camera was used (Neptune 664C),and the standard exposure/gain settings were applied (see image).
In addition to visible features in the night side,compatible with the JUPOS simulation,a cloud discontinuity candidate (arrowed) and a major latitude oriented dark feature (arrowhead) are depicted.
If this approach is possible on consecutive days,one may try to correlate a feature visible on the night side,with a feature (probably the same feature) that becomes visible on the day side in the following morning.
