In the red light image i suspect a small dark spot close to the meridian.
11" (28 cm) Celestron SCT @ f/31.4. ATK-1HS CCD & Philips ToUcam.
Seeing fair-good (Pickering 6-8.) Transparency poor (0.0-3.5mag) high cirrus/stratus clouds present.
No wind. Heavy dew. Eq Diam=20.6" Altitude= 50-61 degs.




Hi all,
Here is my first Saturn image of 2004. After 2 weeks of clouds and/or poor seeing the conditions finally improved somewhat,
though the transparency was never better than 3.5 mag, with high clouds present.
For this image (2 days past opposition day):
Jan 2nd, 2004, 23:15 UTC (CM1=358.8, CM3=130.4.)
11" (28cm) SCT @ f/31. ATK-1HS CCD (Luminance) and Philips ToUcam pro (RGB.)
Seeing fair-good (Pickering 6-8.)
Transparency poor (0.0 - 3.5mag) high cirrus/stratus clouds present.
No wind. Heavy dew.
L: ~2500 x 1/10th secs. (ATK) RGB: ~800 x 1/25th secs. (ToUcam.) Altitude: 60degrees.
