Damiann
(reported by 9 observers)
The vicinity of Mare Acidarium (30W,+50) is covered with white clouds
today. The evening mist seems to hang lightly when Hellas (290W:-50)
becomes an evening. It is understood that Argyre (30W,-50) is seen the
appearance of a round basin, and has cleared up. Damian Peach caught the
appearance from which Arsia Silva (125W,-50) was covered with the cloud.
The appearance in which the same phenomenon as a small mountain where
Alsia Silva exists soon in northeast happens is caught. Moreover, Nix
Olympica seen a red color understands the appearance in which the color
with a red not the center but surroundings is done well.
When Nix Olympica also passes noon as long as the image is seen, it is
understood that the density thickens. (reported by 9 observers)

I took some blue images of Mars showing good visibility of the large Arsia orographic cloud.
This animation shows its rotation from 02:16 UTC to 03:15 UTC (one hour difference)
note its shape and especially its shadow at the lefter side.
The seeing was better in the blue light then in the other wavelengths, which is very strange.
I have noted
that already for a longer time.
10 inch Newton & ATK-1HS @ 0.08´´/p f/62
Here is the complete observing set of my Aug 28 observing session.
Poor seeing during the whole night, with high clouds
but just very good seeing in the last minutes of darkness, after passing a field of clouds.
In this minutes I took these images.
The first image is one in near infra-red and shows especially Olympus Mons very well as a bulge.
The blue images below are those used for the animation of the cloud above Arsia.

Additional Mars ToUcam color image of Aug 28, at04:05:33 UTC
The bulge of Olympus Mons is very obvious.

seeing was poor to fair and rarely the planet image appearing with some details.
I hope in best future seeing conditions..... I'm only to the beginning...

Here are some images from August 28th. Seeing fair, and later good. Tharsis is presented revealing many interesting details.
The Arsia Mons orographic cloud is peculiar. It seems double and irregular, with dark line seperating the two components (unless the fainter cloud is associated with Pavonis Mons?.) Note it brightens as it approaches the evening terminator. Southern polar hazes, and other weak cloud details can also be seen in Blue.
The Tharsis volcanoes can all be seen in the Red images as dark spots approaching the terminator. Olympus mons notably darkening toward sunset in all wavelengths as does Ascraeus Mons, all appearing notably redish, and darkest in Blue. Also note the faint low contrast paterns across the desert areas of Amazonis and Arcadia (these can be well idenitfied in previous apparition imagery.)
14" (35cm) Celestron SCT @ f/39.5. Lumenera LU075M CCD camera.
Seeing initially fair (p4-5) later good (p7-8.) Transparency excellent (5,5mag.) No wind. Moderate dew.
