In the hemisphere that centered on Mare Cimmerium(220W,-20), a
remarkable change was not seen. Nix Olympica (125W,+20) whitens a little
and the appearance covered with the evening mist is recorded in a blue
image of Yunoki. At last, it has come to see white clouds. This
appearance is an image of the color, and Morita catches. Dark sopt of
Propontis (175W,+44) is clearly seen on the north side of NPH. A very
clear image was reported from Damian Peach. It will be able to confirm
where it to be wide when dust strom is generated by recording this
appearance. Especially, the vicinity of Meridiani (0W,-5) understands
and an appearance different from always is understood well this
year.(reported by 17 observers)

A set of Mars images taken at midnight UT, Oct 15/16 from the UK, is
attached. The Sinus Meridiani/Sabaeus longitudes are well placed.
Seeing was an odd mixture. The disc of Mars was nice and rigid but fast
seeing was blurring the finer detail.

Orion Optics 245mm f/6.3 Newt + 5x Powermate projected to
~8x = f/50. 0.12 arcsecs/pixel (7.4 micron pixels).
Lumenera LU 075M + Red, Green & Blue filters.
Temp. a mild +13 C *Horrendous* dew. Transparency very poor.
Breezy. Much drifting cloud.

Captured/converted with Streampix.
Processed with Registax 3/Maxim DL/PSPro 8.
Further details on the image.

Dr. P. Clay Sherrod (410mm SC : ToUcam PRO)
Mars imaged with intermittent "earth clouds" passing through, view of Solis Lacus region.
Note the prominent and small clouds near the southern polar area; minimal exposure of the
NP hood at this longitude, and this restricted to very high northern latitudes, except for
very bright and large knot/cloud near terminator.

Paolo R. Lazzarotti (250mm Newton : Lumenera LU075M)
Despite the poor to fair seeing (the image was sharp but continuosly stretched by turbulence in any direction), it looks like the dust cloud is fading out.

Damian Peach (235mm Celestron SCT:Lumenera LU075)
Here is a preliminary Mars image from yesterday. Full data will follow later. Seeing was fair.
There seems to be a small dust cloud present over Niliacus Lacus probably related to the storm just to the north that occured a few days ago. The dust seems to have dissipated allot, though Eos looks a little lighter. Also note the Hydaspes and Indus "canals" are well seen in Chryse. Some interesting albedo detail across Argyre.
The NPH looks thick and misty, with a thining in it present over Acidalium.

Here is the full set of data from October 16th.
Very little dust remians from the Chryse cloud of the days before. The streak i mentioned at Niliacus Lacus is normal appearance and not dust as i already mentioned.

Paulo Casquinha (250 mm Newtonian Reflector:Toucam Pro)
Hi, here is a Mars image taken in fair seeing conditions the day before the
dust storm appears. Unfortunately I've only image Mars once more since Oct
16 but no useful image can be extract from the AVI's, the seeing was very
very poor. The weather's still wet around here but the forecasts look better
for tomorrow night.

Here a reprocessed Mars of the 16th of Mars,
didn't had time the past week to look over, note the bright streak in blue,
prob. the devellopment of the Nilokeras dust Chris mentioned, regretly I
haven't a later capture that night
