I herewith submit two pictures of Saturn and its Moons close to the descent of Huygens and the moment of the 2005 opposition.
I am a first time submitter and hope I have filled out the information in the proper way.
The satellites mosaic is a combination of a 1 sec picture of the moons made with the modified webcxam and a 1/25 sec picture of Saturn alone.
The larger Saturn image was made with a C11 plus 3x Barlow

Good conditions in Normandy during the opposition. Rings brigthness was evident, specially in visual observation.

Attached is an image of Saturn obtained in excellent seeing close to exact opposition time (actually 41 mintues before the point of exact opposition.) The ring brightening commonly known as the "opposition effect" is well apparent (and was also visually.) The globe also appears dimmer than usual due to the ring brightening.
Also note the Encke division is seen quite a long way around the ansa, and is well defined at both ansa.
A long sequence of images, and animation will follow later.
SATURN IMAGE, JANUARY 13th, 2005. 22:26 UTC.
9.25" (23.5 cm) Celestron SCT @ f/39.5
ATK-1HS CCD camera + RGB filters.
Seeing excellent (Pickering 8-9.) Later deteriorated somewhat.
Transparency very good (5.5mag) occ clouds. Wind SW (0-5mph.) Later calm.
Eq Diam=20.5" Altitude=56 degs.

Here is the full seqeuence of images from opposition night.
SOme vague streaks in the equatorial zone, and a white spot in the mid-SEB zone are present, but little else, hence no animation is attached (over 1MB.)

David Tyler and Myself decided to collaborate for a joint Saturn image since we were both imaging on the night of opposition under excellent seeing.
Youll find the attached image of our joint effort. David sent me his raw data which i processed, and added to my own. Here is how it was made:
Celestron 11" and 9.25" SCTs both @ F/39.5.
Both using ATK-1HS II CCDs.
Both using True Technology type II RGB filter set.
2005/01/13. 22:10-22:25 UTC time window.
Approx 9500 images for luminance image.
This must be the first time two amatuer telescopes were used to produce a high resolution image. These methods certainly have benefits, especially for filtered imaging.
Best Wishes
Original picture

One last effort from opposition night.
This time, processed rather differently to give a more true rendition of the colour bands present, and also a lighter processing for the most natural appearance.
I prefer this result to the original i think which shows the colour tones/view i saw visually.

Sorry for the late but on this period I never had time to process any recent Saturn image.
Here I send a just fair image taken at opposition.
