I did not expect clear skies tonight,but conditions improved. Seeing was fair at 6/10 and trans. 4/5. This year there is always some image motion due to lower dec. and heat from neighbor's houses. I used the 25.4cm f/12 refl.,2x barlow. ToUcam pro(no filter) Registax 3 and Photoshop Elements.

南中高度が低く、シーイングが悪い。最近、ToUcam ProのCCD感度が
劣化しているのか、以前よりもゲインを下げられず、ノイズが多い。
そろそろ予備に買ってある、ToUcam Pro IIの出番か？

Had fairly stable air over Perth again last night. The series of images show the march of Io across the face of Jupiter again. Interesting this time is Jupiter is getting close to opposition so the shadow of Io is partly covered by Io itself leaving the shadow with a half moon appearance.
I noticed on these images a number of faint bands in the South Temperate Belt running at about 30 degrees from the vertical. They are not a processing artefact as the bands move with the planets rotation. They are absent from earlier images I have taken of this area so perhaps they are only visible during opposition? I would be interested if anyone else has observed these.
Also noticed changes going on the left side of the Oval BA compared to earlier images. The Oval BA is still maintaining its red colour with the white hole in the middle.

午後にLu075Cが届き、早速使って見ました。
シーイングがいまいちで、納得のいく高解像度の画像は得られませんでしたが、
ノイズの少なさには驚かされました。

コメント： このGW中、久しぶりに割りと良いシーイングに恵まれました。やっと惑
星の観測・撮影が楽しくなって来ました。この冬は本当につらいでした。５日は良い
（？?,まだ画像処理していませんが）火星の画像を撮れました。
Some pretty decent seeing on the 3rd,nothing great but better than it has
been here for a while. The SSTB ovals were very evident visually in the
telescope.

コメント：火星や土星に比べてシーイングが悪く、ぼやけている。
大赤斑後方の乱れも詳細が判らない。

画像処理では色を強めていますが、眼視ではあまり色を感じません。

そこそこのシ-ングにめぐり合いましたが、時間と共に悪化し
２時間後には全く撮像できない状態になってしまいました。

A selection of images taken by different methods: R-IR filtered mono,RGB filtered,and a shot with a colour Toucam.
The 1st and 3rd R-IR images were taken at 20 fps,the 2nd at 10 fps. 20 fps seems to result in slightly better contrast in bad seeing,but also gives ringing due to the lower signal level. These images have been made into a short movie.
The colour Toucam is giving a very different colour representation at the moment to my RGB composites - much more natural,but with less contrasted detail.
The spot just S of the NPH prec. in images 2 & 4 is contamination on the mono camera chip.
