Paul G. Abel(203mm reflector)
Jupiter observation,5th June 2010,with Andrew Button and Hugh Sasse.
A drawing of Jupiter I made this morning using the University of Leicester's 20" PlaneWave Cassegrain telescope f/6.8). Alas, the impact site was no longer visible but both Andrew Button and myself were able to trace a small part of the SEB (presumably the SEB(N)?) and we both agreed the NEB appeared to be very turbulent and a strong brownish-red colour. A fairly bright white oval was present in the NEBn. The GRS is just on the fol. limb and light grayish in colour. Some interesting festoons present in the EZ. Hugh Sasse (who is partially sighted) was able to make out the polar shadings.
The observation was made in a fairly bright sky and I deemed it to bright to make any further detailed observations by 0404UT. All agreed,so we stopped observations at 0405UT.

In the R-channel image the impact region could be visible at the very left edge of the disc. In the animation this image is at the first position, the colour images refer to the last position there.
