Here is a monochrome (red light) image of Saturn from a short while ago, showing the continuing SED storm in the southern hemisphere. There appears to be several white spots following closely behind the bright core of the storm, and another storm is visible closer to the equator.
This is the first image with a new camera - PGR Flea3 - that looks very promising, and finally the annoying edge artifact seems to be gone. More images to come.

Here is a colour image from this evenings Saturn session, contrast enhanced to highlight the storm. Note how the SED storm is clearly showing in multiple nuclei.
I'm very happy to see that the edge artifact is gone thanks to the new camera, although it might take me a while to learn how to colour balance my images properly.

Most interesting; the features in the southern hemisphere seem to be easier to see tonight. STZ a dull grey zone, and not as bright as the STropZ which contained more yellow colour. I strongly suspected the STB was present. Both components of SEB present tonight, although SEB(S) was fainter and harder to see,but definitely present. The SEB(N) was the broader of the two and caught my attention first as it was a strong brownish red colour. The EZ(S) contained quite a bit of yellow colour, but was much duller than the EZ(N) which was a creamy yellow in comparison. EZ(N) the brightest feature on the disk.
The NEB was broad and fairly dark- I'm not sure if I observed the NEB(S) and NEB(N) components or whether the north and south edges of the belt were much darker than the rest of it. Anyhow,NEB(N)/NEBn was certainly the darkest feature on the disk. NTropZ a light greyish yellow colour and I suspect the NTB was present- this was far from certain however because the NTB seemed to blend into the general grey shading of the NPR and had the appearance of a NPB. ShRG well seen- a lovely definte curve along the fol and proc. limbs.
Rings very narrow now but Cassini Division was present and the A-Ring was a dark grey colour. The Bright B-Ring seemd to be 'dazzling' at the ansae edges. The C-Ring was hard to distinguisf from the general brightness of the rings.

Drawng showing a possible white spot in the STropZ and a similar but smaller and fainter region in the STZ.
