Imaged Saturn last night in rather ordinary seeing, very different from the previous night. The dark spot and bright spot that leads it in the old storm remnant should be visible but the seeing was too poor to resolve them.
Of interest in spite of the poor conditions is a rather bright EZ spot,it shows up well in my R channel data and is at L3 -3.3 Lat 152
Have attached 2 R & IR data sets & 1 RGB data set along with a animation of the 2 R channel data sets from 50 minutes apart that highlight the EZ spot.
The predictions for my seeing for the coming week look very bleak so it might be a while until my next imaging opportunity.

Attached is an observation of Saturn, close to opposition last night. Seeing conditions were rather poor and never better than AIV. I spent some time examining the planet with a W#11 filter. Some interesting features seen,in particular the ShGR was seen on both sides of the ansae. It also looked like two TWS were present. I am convinced this is just an artefact of the poor seeing conditions however. The B1-Ring was very bright (Opposition Effect very prominent) and for the first time this apparition, the B1-Ring appeared to be white in colour. Satellite Tethys is shown in the drawing.
The Northern polar region was rather dark with some hints of blue colour, absolutely no sign of the polar hexagon was detected.
