6月12日にオーロラ（Aurorae Sinus;53W,-10）の東に発生した、ダストはDamian Peach氏の画像を見ると淡くなってしまっている。
しかし、マリネリス渓谷に入り込み、その部分が細いベルトのようになって記録されている。ちょうど谷の幅だから、他にいっぱいにダストが
拡がり、光学的な厚さが厚くなって起こった現象である。
Damian Peach氏の画像では、SPCのわきに小さな白点が記録されている。これはSPCのすぐわきのクレーターの内部にできた
SPCの一部が融け残ったものである。
Mike Hood氏の画像では、Meridianiの西に明るい部分が記録され、ダストストームのように見えているが、これは画像処理によって
できたものであり、実在のものではない。
Dust that occurred to the east of Aurorae Sinus (53W,-10) on June 12 was faint when viewed by Mr. Damian Peach. However,
it entered the Marineris Valley and was recorded as a thin belt. This is a phenomenon that occurs because the dust is spread to
the other side and the optical thickness is increased because it is just the width of the valley.
Mr. Damian Peach's image shows a small white spot beside the SPC. This is a part of the SPC formed inside the crater just beside
the SPC and left unmelted.In Mr. Mike Hood's image,the bright areas west of the Meridiani are recorded and appear to be
dust storms,but they were image-processed,not real.

The planet has now reached over 10 arc secs in apparent diameter and this view shows the large albedo area of Mare Cimmerium and Sinus Gomer can be seen on the f limb.
There is nothing remarkable to see here except the dishevelled state of the SPC which seems to be rapidly losing its pristine whiteness as the carbon dioxide sublimes to supplement the thin atmosphere.
More surface detail is starting to come through as the apparent diameter of the planet increases.
