SPCは偏心しているため、Mare Cimmerium (W180〜W250,-40〜0)方面から火星を眺めると、極冠は小さく見える。Gary Walker氏
の画像は、その様子をよく現している。ミッチェル山がなければ、もうわずかしか見えない。
日本からの見え方は、佐々木氏の画像が特徴をよくとらえている。一見してSinus Sabaeus (320W〜350W,-10)とMeridiani (0W,-5)
の東側、さらにMare Serpentis (325W,-25)がよく目立っている。今日もArgyre (30W,-50 )に淡い白雲が見られる。
Mike Hood氏の画像ではSPCにエッジダストストームが記録されている。まだ、初期の段階のようだ。また、Niall MacNeill氏・
Ｔ．阿久津氏・大杉氏は、Argyre (30W,-50 )南方にエッジダストストームの発生を記録した。中規模のダストストームで、またこの付近
の模様の見え方に大きく影響を与えるものと思われる。
The SPC is eccentric,so when you look at Mars from the direction of Mare Cimmerium (W180-W250,-40-0),the polar
cap looks small. Mr. Gary Walker's image shows that very well. Without Mitchell,we can barely see it.Mr. Sasaki's image captures
the characteristics of how it looks from Japan. At first glance,Sinus Sabaeus (320W-350W,-10) and Meridiani (0W,-5) on the east side,
and Mare Serpentis (325W,-25) are most prominent. A pale white cloud can be seen in Argyre (30W,-50) today. In the image of
Mr. Mike Hood,the edge dust storm is recorded on the SPC. It's still in the early stages. Also,Mr. Niall MacNeill,Mr. T. Akutsu
and Mr. Osugi recorded the occurrence of edge dust storms to the south of Argyre (30W,-50 ). It is a medium-scale dust storm,
and it is thought that it will greatly affect the appearance of patterns around this area.

今日は、シーイングはほぼ最高のように見えるが、隣のマンションの室外機から熱風が断続的に流れてきた。
そのため、まともな火星を見れていない。模様は濃くよく見えていたが、細部までは分からなかった。

Mars show Syrtis Major,Hellas and the South Pole.

Clouds/ gas can be seen venting off the side of the SPC and apparently picking up dust
which is moving in a cloud to the north and f side of the planet towards the limb.
The tenuous white cloud at the upper left of the SPC can be seen traversing quite dark terrain at the edge of the polar cap.
This phenomenon is called 'cascades' in some reports. The locally faster sublimation drives winds off the cap edge,
stirring up local dust. The pattern is similar but not quite the same each year.

In good seeing. The technique I have used is a near-IR luminance layer on an RGB composite,
with the view derotated to the time of the IR. I’ve tried a couple of different IR filters here.
On the 4th the volcanoes were nicely on show.
