I almost did not image as the seeing forecast was not good. I enjoyed a view of Phobos and Deimos through the camera before the clouds crept in.

北からの高気圧で晴れましたが、すっかり秋の気配です。

The seeing was windy.

In better seeing conditions than yesterday, which allowed me to try a true RGB.
Nix olympica is visible close to p limb.

Here is a report performed with the 60 and 102mm refractors and the cassegrain 203mm.
Images were average good with under a poor sky transparency.
The haze〓activity standed on Lybia〓area at limb,Solis Lacus area at terminator so that this formation was deeply occulted until Tharsis area.
Mare Boreum,Scandia was also covered by a thick haze〓of greyish appearance that differed with the edge hazzes on the equator.
Still the polar south cap visible except with the 60mm aperture.
With〓the naked eye,〓mars looked yellowish in the sky through the clouds holes.
[Stanislas Maksymowicz Ecquevilly,France]
The images of October 8th and 9th show a lot of clouds above the Tharsis region.
In the image of 9th I think we see also a cloud over the Olympus Mons,
where a blush plume is present instead of the darker caldera of the volcano.

It was a better than average night for my part of the world.
I spent an hour experimenting with various eyepieces,Barlows, and filters,
settling on 339X and a 610 Long Pass filter for the sketch, which was done with a ten-inch f/6 Newtonian.
Started at 05:30 UT; finished at 6:15 UT. CM = 297.

Jittery jet stream seeing limited detail visible, but nice clouds visible on both limbs and N ploar hood.

In fair seeing, have reasonable depth of detail.

We continue our "special project" this apparition of creating annotated disk maps of Mars as opposed to the projection maps that are everywhere on the internet...
we do this because we feel that (especially for AA imagers) it is an excellent "ready reckoner" when people are imaging & want a quick appraisal of what they are viewing onscreen & after processing of their captures, encouraged by feedback from numerous people agreeing such presentations are worthwhile.
Here we see the "Eye of Mars" - Solis Lacus - central,as well as other adjacent regions in annotated & un-annotated 150% of capture scale images,
as well as the rgb & individual filter captures at 100% (capture) scale. Some maps re-annotate features but only as references when another image in the series shows similar features. ;)

This one is the best image I have taken from this opposition, corresponding to Mare Sirenum and Amazonis.
Mons Olympus is clearly visible at NW.
