The session this morning started with the poor seeing conditions that I have experienced so much of recently, but I was pleased to see quite an improvement as I was busy with Mars. Hellas and Syrtis Major are well seen, with the northern areas of Hellas showing as a bit brighter.

Could aquire Mars images in the morning (daylight observation about 2 hrs after meridian) under fair seeing.
Interesting detail in souther polar cap. Seems to have a split or small gap showing up as dark line separating the ice shield (see enlargement). First time since long that Sinus meridianii clearly is split.
