We had an early thunderstorm today. But condition was great when I imaged Mars. Seeing was very good.
Syrtis Major is the prominent feature here. Sinus Sabaeus is on the left. Hellas is to the South. There are some clouds over Hellespontos and Deucaliones Regio. The north polar hood is clearing up and we can now see parts of the north polar cap.

In reasonable seeing.
Some jetstream was present so the fine detail is limited but overall conditions were stable for the 20 minutes or so to record the 4 data sets that made this image.
Syrtis Major is prominent as the large dark feature just right of centre,Hellas Basin is visible at lower centre, clouds are visible over the north pole at top and the west/east limbs.

I am finding that by the time Mars rises above the bushes and trees in the garden, the temperature has stabilised (there is sometimes a +- 20 deg C drop from the warm daytime temps into the evening) and the westerly evening wind has dropped, giving me some decent conditions, despite Mars being at an altitude of 38 degrees for this set. I am still seeing some signs that my collimation may be slightly off,but with family arriving today for the festive season, hopefully they can give me a hand sorting that out. Plenty of detail across the planet, with subtle markings extending across the southern hemisphere and some beautiful wispy cloud in the south west (upper right). I also note a small cloud on the limb at upper left. The north polar region clouds remain quite complex.

Here Mars on 16 December 2022 under good seeing conditions. This is probably my best Mars image of this apparition. For this image 5 SER video's of 30,000 frames each were processed with Autostakkert3!
Respectively 5% and 20% of the frames of each SER file were stacked and the 10 resulting images were derotated with WinJUPOS and combined. Adjustment of contrast, sharpness and colour was performed with Photoshop CS2.
A wealth of details can be detected in Oxia Palus,Niliacus Lacus,Mare Acidalium,ArgyreI and Mare Erythraeum. Note the clouds over Solis Lacus and the extensive cloud formation on the Northern hemisphere.

Here is a mars report using the 150ED refractor under good images.
The disk color remains yellow light orange and may be on intensity enhancement.
