シーイングは時間とともに悪化していった。
Seeing worsened over time.

After a week of horrible weather we finally had a clearing. Seeing was good but my imaging run was cut short when it became overcast!
Note the clouds over the Tharsis volcanoes. The clouds of Mons Arsia is bigger. The north pole is still covered a thinning polar hood. Clouds are forming on the south pole. There are clouds also on the southern temperate area. This is obvious in the UV image. Elysium can be seen on the upper left. Olympus Mons can also be seen.

晴れ間はあるものの雲が多く、急ぎ準備して撮影開始しましたが
1枚目の終盤には雲に隠されてしまい、1枚のみの処理となりました。

A later start than normal last night. Conditions were poor.
Syrtis Major is to the right of centre. Hellas is towards upper right, with some cloud cover over its SW regions.
The forecast is not looking good for the next few days,so may I wish you and your loved ones all of the very best for the New Year- I hope you can enjoy the celebrations, whatever you have planned.

Attached are two drawings of Mars made last night on the 29th December. Seeing was somewhat variable but I was able to use powers of x230 & x300. The following points were noted:
Drawing 1:
・Hellas can be seen but the basin was not particularly bright. Markings seen within probably Zea Lacus. Bright cloud over Hellespontus.
・Centauri L. seen and the Mare Hadriacum was quite dark. Yaonis Fretum quite light.
・Mare Tyrrenhum rather dark as were parts of the Syrtis Major.
・Hellespontus shaded and Noachis not particularly bright
・To the far north,Casius and Umbra were visible just about the NPH.
・Northern polar hood seen- or is this the ground cap now?
Drawing 2:
・There are now brilliant clouds present on the preceeding limb extending over Syrtis Major and all along the evening limb. These clouds had a bluish colour.
・Sinus Sabaeus very dark- interestingly the Deucalionis regio was still rather shaded and not particularly bright,Pandorae Fretum could be discerned but everything south of this was was dusky with complex patches.
・Arabia and Eden were bright with shadings in Deuteronilus
・NPH more developed here with a darker streak visible inside the NPH.
General Note: I am now of the impression that even the darkest albedo features all appear to be somewhat washed out and a little harder to define visually compared to views of the same features during the last apparition.
Low cloud drifting in during Drawing 2 but the clouds became total at 2340UT and I closed down for the night.

I enclose an image of Mars from December 29 in poor seeing conditions (III/IV Ant.),only very rare moments of relative calm atmospheric with acceptable fine detail resolution.
The Syrtis Major is at the central mardian of Mars, above the seas Tyrrehnum and Hadriacum can be seen, some veils are visible in the area of Hellas and at the edge p.

Mare Sirenum (140W~170W,-30)の経度だが、NPHの南側に淡い東西方向のバンドが見えた。
暗いバンドなのか、明るいゾーンなのかがはっきりしないが、きわめてかすかにみえる。

Here is my last Mars report performed last 29th dec. using the 80mm refractor under just decent images.
Seeing was too tremendous for the CC203 use, therefore the present report with.
Hazes and veils are plotted against the filter color.
From the red channel beyond the blue channel the degradation of the detail contrasts is well noted, however still relatively high under the deep blue channel (an achromat in use).
The background color of the planet is still yellow orange, even at 182x (magnification 2,3xD).
The cap regio exhibits bright white zones well accessible.
Nothing else with the means in game.

Manos Kardasis
Thin clouds are visible in some places of the S hemisphere and the pole.
