Attached is an observation of Saturn made with Dr Hugh Sasse at the University of Leicester Observatory. Seeing was never better than AIV but there were a number of details visible:
- There seemed to be a distinctive bluish tint to the southern hemisphere
- One belt visible just south of the rings- presumably the STB?
- EZ yellowish, faint trace of EB present.
- NEB appears double, with NEB(s) darker and larger of the two.
- Two belts seen north of the NEB- a greenish tint seems to be present in the northern hemisphere
Not a lot of details seen in the rings- they are now narrower compared to last year. A-ring was greyish and the B-ring bright. C-ring was also seen. Shadow of rings on globe seen south of the ansae for the first time in many years!
