Here's a 642nm IR filter image from good seeing on the 10th. Several features appear on the disk, but I suspect that only the bright spot near the lower-left limb at ~PA240deg is real - it gradually appeared over the 50mins of imaging (10x5min).
The bright patch below centre did not rotate with the planet, and seems to be part of a brighter inner ring that's parallel with the limb of the planet in all my sub-images. Although it was noticeably bright, I think it's a diffraction effect - it appears in that position however I sharpen the image so doesn't seem to be related to the sharpening approach. Do any other imagers of Neptune (with C14 or other scopes), see this sort of effect? Or have any idea how to reduce/combat it??
