Here’s my first Saturn image of 2023 ? an RGB image bracketed by two IR642nm images. Moderate conditions, but it was lovely to be imaging one of the gas giants again after a few months’ break. No major spots visible above the noise threshold, but the polar hexagon remains pale in IR at the north pole. The rings are nearing their narrowest for 2023 and I am looking forward to seeing if we can see any of the light/shadow play from light passing through the Cassini Division becoming visible outside the edge of the rings over the next two months or so, perhaps best from mid-May to mid-June.
