衝+1日でしたが、衝の時期に記録が残せて良かったです。シーイングも透明度も良かったです。

I had very good seeing conditions for these captures of Saturn using the QHY5III200M. Whilst I have had no end of technical problems with this camera,it does a nice job across a broad range of wavelengths. I maintained the 2X Barlow, however, for next time,I think the Methane Band and UV images would benefit from its removal to improve the signal to noise ratio. The image scale is not a significant factor here. Nevertheless the Methane Band image is by far the best I have captured for Saturn.
Considerable detail is resolved in the Northern and particularly the Southern Hemisphere in both the RGB and IR images.

Here's a set from two days after opposition in my best seeing since 2020, with the Encke division resolved in the blue frames. Few major features on the globe (some red filter details in the SEB are a bit lost in the RGB image), but there are two fairly faint spokes on the upper-left B-ring ansa. The rings are still brightened by the opposition effect. Four inner moons decorate the scene, from Tethys, Dione and Enceladus at upper left to little Mimas at lower right.
The IR image shows some SEB activity and a higher latitude southern spot, but no spokes as it was an hour after the RGB. The red frame is the most interesting for cloud features again, and highlights the SEB activity, with the disturbed paler band broken by dark bars around L3 = 154 and 170deg (lat ~-30deg). The animation of spokes in the B ring on the 29th is also at this link: http://pvol2.ehu.eus/pvolimages/saturn/s2023-08-29_13-00-00_r_acasely.gifThe animation also does a good job of showing the SEB activity.
