Hi all, here is my first trial of obtaining registered Saturn images with three CH4 band filters and matched continuum. I did not calibrate filter integrations yet, only made a linear stretch that almost "nulled" the rings following image ratio operations. (what's the best method for Saturn? satellite (Europa) as for Jupiter,or any other method? Ratios were only performed on linear stretched data. Mild sharpening was done afterwards for visualization. "Symmetrical" filter sequence imaging was used, capturing multiple 4min SERs,specifically:
CH4 727 - CH4 727 -Cont 750 - Cont 750 - CH4 727 - CH4 727
CH4 890 - CH4 890 - CH4 1000 - CH4 1000 - Cont 950 - Cont 950 - CH4 1000 - CH4 1000 - CH4 890 - CH4 890
Image stack from each filter were JUPOS derotated, giving rise to multi-filter image sets that were registered (dates and time for each image set are shown in images.
Image ratios were made in MaximDL.
The positioning of the light/dark bands resulting from continuum to methane band ratios,as well as between CH4 band filters will be evaluated.
Image sets and gif animations between filter images and image ratios were attached.
