Here are some Saturn images from good seeing on the 10th. Some observations from an enjoyable session:
-Small dark spot at ~31deg N. There is also a fainter dark mark (may just be noise) at ~41N on the meridian (III: 12deg) in the 11:14.5 red filter image.
-A darker roughly x-shaped patch is rotating onto the equatorial zone (left side) in the methane band, either a dark patch, or the dark outline between two brighter EZ circulations, between about 330-350deg in System I. It is visible in individual frames.
-A different part of the EZ has a pale diagonal streak through a darker patch in the two red filter images, approx. 230-250deg in System I. It is more clear in the over-enhanced versions of the red frames.
-There are a series of ripples along belts in southern hemisphere midlatitude at ~25-40deg S.
-A ring spoke is visible on the left ansa of the B ring, animation attached. Little more than a smudge, but it moves around in the sequence of red frames.
-The rings are notably darker than 12 months ago as we head towards Saturn’s equinox.
-I caught mag 14.4 Hyperion for the first time (marked in the RGB image), using a short set of slightly longer red channel exposures
