We had clear,if somewhat hazy skies last night and I used the University observatory to make an observation of Saturn. Seeing was fairly poor but there were a number of interesting points:
Globe:
-STB and SEB both visible and a bluish colour
-EZ is a brighter yellowish region
-NEB is the darkest belt on the disk- the NEB(s) was the darkest component and contained several condensations
-NTB visible and NNTb also visible and was prpbably easier to see
Rings:
-The rings in general seem to be darker than before- now that the rings are narrower it seems that after opposition the rings have got noticeably darker
-Both the A-Ring and B-Ring were visible and yellow in colour.
-Cassini Division seen at ansae edges
-C-Ring very difficult to see.
