Saturn Image 2025/05/06(UT)

I had some periods of good seeing conditions, and the rings were evident in the R610LP when the contrast and brightness were boosted. However,my opinion was that the visibility was more a result of the seeing rather than a significant increase in intrinsic brightness. Similarly the rings could barely be made out in the enhanced CH4.
With increased sharpening of the R610LP,I suspect there may be a light feature on the edge of the SP region. But needs to be confirmed by other observations.

Here are a couple of images, RGB and IR642, taken just seven hours after Saturn's equinox in moderate conditions. As with images taken on the 3rd, only the nearside outer edge of the rings is visible in the enhanced IR, indicating that (as seen in Cassini images from 2009) that at equinox much of the light may even be coming from the F ring, with just a little from the outer edges of other rings. Not as sharp as my 3rd May images, but a nice memento of the equinox.
