解説（安達）
ソリス(Solis Lacus;90W,-25)の横のダストストームが明るく変化した。
位置は、ネクター(Nectar;70W,-24)になる。三品氏の画像でこの様子が鮮明に
記録された。ダストストームは、西側にやや拡がった。アルギレ(Argyre;30W
-50)付近で、は淡くなってきた。NPHはほとんど見えない状態になった。米山
氏の画像によれば、ソリスの南は水蒸気による雲が拡がっている。ダストスト
−ムの夕暮れと、水蒸気の雲とになんらかの関連がありそうだ。シレナム(Mare
Sirenum;160W,-30)付近からNPHが見えるようになる。 P. Clay Sherrod はダ
ストストームの複雑な様子を記録した。ダストストームの南への広がりは、南
緯50度で終わったようだ。アキダリウム(Mare Acidarium;30W+50)の北東部に
明るい白斑が出現した。NPHがほとんど見えなくなっていた状態だったため、
大変目立っている。Fattinannzi Cristanの画像から、アキダリウムの位置か
ら東に向かって、NPHがはっきり見えることが分かる。このことから、今まで
はアキダリウムの部分だけNPHが見えなかったことになる。Paulo Casquinhaの
画像ではアルギレ(Argyre;30W,-50)からノアキス(Noachis;0W,-40)にかけて
15度から20度おきに３つの明るく丸い模様が並んでいるのが注目される。これ
が毎日１つずつ増えているとすると興味深い。(reported by 22 observers)

Duststorm on the side of Solis Lacus (90W,-25) has been brightly
changed. The position becomes Nectar(70W,-24). This appearance was
clearly recorded by the image of Mishina. Dust storm has extended to
the west side a little. The vicinity of Argyre(30W,-50) has become
light. NPH entered the state hardly seen. The cloud by steam has
extended to the south of Solis Lacus according to the image of
Yoneyama. There seem to be some relations in the evening and the
cloud of steam of dust storm. It comes to see NPH from the vicinity
of Mare Sirenum　(160W,-30). P. Clay Sherrod recorded a complex
appearance of dust storm. The extension of dust storm to the south
seems to have ended by 50° south. A bright facula appeared in
northeastern of Mare Acidarium  (30W+50). Because it was a state
that NPH had disappeared almost,it is very remarkable. It is
understood to see NPH from the position of Acidarium clearly toward
the east from the image of Fattinannzi Cristan. A part of Acidarium
alone will not have seen NPH from this up to now. It is paid
attention to the arrangement of three bright,round patterns from
Argyre  (30W,-50) to Noachis  (0W,-40) at intervals of from 15 to
20 degrees in the image of Paulo Casquinha. If this increases one
by one every day,it is interesting. (reported by 22 observers)

やっと黄雲を捉えることができました。これからの展開が楽しみですが、明日から２
８日まで石川県に出張しなければならなくなり愛機を持参しようか思案中です。

ソリスのダストストームには大きな変化は無さそうです。
今夜もシーイングが悪い状態でした。高度が上がれば
改善するかと思っていましたが、時間が経つに連れて
シーイングが悪化する感じなので、3回目の撮影後中止しました。

シーイングが悪いので価値は無いと思いますが
短波長光で撮影した画像も添付します。
Fitsファイルも同時に送付します。

コメント
上空は大気が不安定で、ピントの山がつかめない程のシーイングでした。不鮮明で
すが、何とかダストストームの広がりは確認できました。複数画像撮影しましたが、
報告はこの１画像のみです。

風は微風ですが大変シーイングが不良です。
ダストストームはやや拡大しているように感じます。

コメント：透明度は良いもののシーイングはジェット気流の影響でかなり
悪いと思われましたが、一時的に回復して、白点のような南極冠
やS字状に蛇行するダストストームやシレーンの海が良く見えました。

 いざ撮影しようとしたときから曇ってしまいました。
雲を通して不安定な状態での撮影です。
シーイングは割と良かっただけに残念です。

コメント：ダストストームが、ソリスから立ち昇る狼煙のように見えます。
今後、どのような変化を見せるかが楽しみです。
時間経過とともにシーイングが改善してきたが、今度は透明度が
悪くなって行き、曇ってしまった。

印象---眼視:
シーングが悪いので、倍率を220倍に下げて観察した。
TVJのMARS-Bフィルタを使うとダスト嵐がクッキリと見やすくなった。
ダスト嵐は、Solisの南に回りこんで、砂漠のように輝いていた。
南極の付近にも輝く小さな点が見えた。
Impression---visual observation：
Because seeing was bad,I lowered the magnification to X220.
And I used the MARS-B filter of TeleVue. It became easy to see the dust storm clearly then.
The dust storm extended to the
south of Solis,and shone like the desert.
A small point that shone near the South Pole was seen.

なかなか良いシーイングにめぐり会えませんね。
１９時過ぎから２２時３０分位までモニターに張り付いて、ほんのわずかの時間3〜4/10程度のシーイングに
出会えました。大変疲れましたが、強烈なダストストームに興奮しながら、時の経つのを忘れていました。
・蛇が鎌首をもたげるようにしてソリスに襲いかかっている様に見えます。
・アルギュレの東部のほうはどうなっているのか、海外の方々の観測報告が楽しみです。

寒冷前線の通過で天気は最悪で風が
強くＣＣＤ内から画像がはみ出します。
ソリスのダストストームがかすかに見えて
います。シーングは最悪でした。

最初はシーイングが悪かった(1/10)ので、
そろそろやめようかと思いつつ
撮影しているうちに、シーイングが
徐々に良くなってくるので、(シーイング3/10)
拡大率を上げ、さらにシーイングが良くなって
いつまでたっても撮影を終了する
決断が付かず、3時間撮り続け、28ショットも撮影
してたいへん疲れました。
後の処理もたいへんでした。
最後のコマはシーイング 7/10 ぐらい。

南極冠が白く輝いてきました。
ダストストームの成長ピークが過ぎたのでしょうか。

Clay が北半球高緯度のアキダリア付近の雲の
短時間の移動をとらえたようです。

 昨日よりましだが、強風が吹き荒れ、seeing  最悪
 ソリスの南側に、ダストがある。

The yellow dust storm is spreading westward (celestial) and southward on Mars as indicated
in tonight's images and reports by others; clouds prevented observations of the Solis
Lacus region directly,but clearly there is intense yellow activity on the eastern limb.

More curiously to me at this point is the intense bright spot that first became evident
around October 18 on images here at ASO; it is quite pronounced and scintillating at about
CM 5 deg,and is NOT axially aligned with the NCP of Mars,but rather offset in relation
to the SPC; I do not believe this odd feature to be a polar cap per se,and indications of
brightening could indicate some transient activity due to solar heating near the pole.
This really deserves careful scrutiny I believe and I look forward to observations and
comments from others.


Another good eye catch by our Mars observing friend Ron ( 1rondee@verizon.net ); he has
take two of the ASO images (Oct 20 and 23) and animated a short .gif file to demonstrate
the brilliant flash or spot near the Martian northern pole; this is NOT at the position of
the true NPC of Mars,but is rotating with the planet eccentric to the pole.  Note the
remarkable shift in the bright white spot in only three days.  The first image is Oct 20
and that unlabeled is Oct 23; there is a slight difference in longitude,but use common
and conspicuous markings to ascertain this rapid westward motion relative to the other
features of Mars.

transparency was fair to good with some haze and lots of humidity. The last
image capture the dust storm and what seams a dust line on the border of the NPH.

planet rotates,so would appear to be a localised version of the dawn haze.
