酷いシーイングの上に、薄雲の通過に邪魔されながらの撮影でした。

雲が多く撮影できる時間はわずかであった。おまけにシーイングは相当悪かった。

昼間から観測を開始してみたが、シーイングは非常に悪かった。ここしばらくの間では最もひどかった。
Mare Cimmeriumは分かるが、形がつかめない。夜になっても状態は変わらなかったが、曇ってくる直前になって中程度まで回復した。

A clear period lasting around half an hour,erratic seeing varying from slightly better than average at times,to terrible at others.
But it wasn’t raining so that’s a positive!

SPC suspected this evening,possibly just a small area of mist at the pole,possibly the cap remnant showing through,
impossible to be sure either way,but certainly looked cap-like in better moments.
Southern mist band present across the whole width of the disc,brighter in the middle and at the western end,
with another small band of mist on the morning side just north of it.
NPH again very bright and bluish at the northern limb,Niliacus Lacus to its south,then more mist in Chryse/Xanthe.

大晦日、元旦、2日と準備してて撮影開始直前に火星に雲隠れされて参りました。3日は雲が流れていたものの何とか撮れました。
極悪気流で、どこが写っているか分かるだけのIR写真ですが、
positive negative data(もの凄いことは起こっていないことがわかる)ということでご報告いたします。
ご参考にこの元旦のMars Express衛星の軌道監視デジカメVMCの写真も添付いたします。
エリシウム山の経度でドライアイスの季節的北極冠が大きく見えています(上の方にGaleクレーターをぶら下げた”メデューサの涙”も写っています)。
極冠も分光測光学的には“火星色”というのがよくわかります。北極冠は縮小が進行していて現在の雪線緯度(外縁の位置)は60°Nくらいでしょうか。
いまDeは22°Sですからもう地上から捉えるのは無理そうです。
Attached here IR Mars images from the 03 January session with almost hopeless seeing condition,
no more than a “positive negative data” proving mind blowing events were not on this side of the red planet.
Also attaching FYI is an image on this New Year’s Day by Mars Express VMC showing Elysium Rise longitude with a huge seasonal NPC wearing “Mars color”.
