Here is a Mars report performed with the 102mm refractor under a transparent sky at the beginning but with stable fixed images quoted 9/10 at the best.
Comparing to the day before report about the brightening (north at top):
- The Moab Eden regio has the same figure with the presence of this mist (noted (2) on the sketch.
- Argyre was the brightest area at the south pole.
- On the Solis Lacus regio a white haze was there, not very present with the G and Y filters confirmed with the R filter, noted (1) on the sketch.
- The north cap exhibited the groove noted also on the 2nd january and a notch on Mare Boreum, straight to. One of the old dust storms that occurred at the cap border 2-3 weeks ago.
It is preferable to get fixed images through a moderate aperture with high contrast than with a bigger one for the evaluations.

Despite having to replace and set-up a new mount before this session (the old one failed the day before) and also having to go out and replace the hairdryer mid observing session (the old one caught fire!) i managed to get my best result of the current apparition. A big thanks to Ian Sharp for his help in getting back up and running quickly!
The Chryse hemisphere is on view. One particularly interesting detail here are the prominent clouds above Meridiani at far right on the terminator.
